De serie Vår tid är nu (The Restaurant) begint in en gaat over een van de populairste restaurants in Stockholm op dat moment: het restaurant van de familie Löwander genaamd Djurgårdskällaren. Middelste zoon Peter Löwander keert terug naar de Zweedse hoofdstad vanuit een vluchtelingenkamp waar hij tijdens de oorlog heeft gewerkt. Oudste zoon Gustaf heeft het restaurant in de oorlogsjaren overeind weten te houden – op elke manier die hij maar kon bedenken. Al gauw komt Peter erachter dat het restaurant van zijn familie op de rand van een faillissement staat. Heel Stockholm is in jubelstemming omdat het vrede is, maar er zal veel moeten veranderen wil de familie het hoofd boven water houden. Jongste dochter Nina heeft daar wel ideeën over. Ze wil in de feestzaal van het restaurant een nachtclub openen, maar niet iedereen is het daarmee eens. Vår tid är nu (en: Our Time is Now - English translation; The Restaurant - English title[1]) is a Swedish historical drama series with 32 episodes divided into four seasons.[2][3] The first season premiered at SVT on 2 October , and the second season premiered on 1 October [4][5] The third season premiered on 28 October ,[6] while the fourth season, bridging gaps that occurred in the storyline between Seasons 1 and 2, was released on 25 December [7]
Synopsis
[edit]In , the middle-class Löwander family - siblings Gustaf, Peter and Nina and mother Helga - run one of Stockholm's most popular restaurants, Djurgårdskällaren, when the Second World War ends. Eldest son Gustaf has taken the establishment through the war years and wants to run the business as it always looked, while sister Nina falls in love with the kitchen boy Calle with a working-class background and welcomes the new spirit of the times. Middle son Peter returns to the capital from a refugee camp where he has worked during the war years and soon realizes that the family business is in tro
