History

[edit]Ramboll was founded in October as Rambøll & Hannemann in Copenhagen by a pair of engineers, Børge Johannes Rambøll (–) and Johan Georg Hannemann (–).[6] Both had studied at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and were heavily motivated to be involved in the rebuilding effort following the devastation of the Second World War. Ramboll appoints new members to the Group Executive Board
Peter Heymann Andersen is appointed Group Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for the global Market business units Buildings, Transport, Architecture, Landscape & Urbanism and Water.
Michael Thorndahl Simmelsgaard is appointed Group Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for the global Market business units Energy, Environment & Health and Management Consulting.
Mathew Riley is appointed Group Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for the Geographical business units Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, UK and Germany.
All three are internal candidates and will be sharing responsibility for driving Ramboll’s operations in the global and local dimensions reflecting Ramboll’s operating model.
